AFROPUNK, Warm Up Take Over New York
Summer 2017 has been a whirlwind of great music fests across the country. From Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas to the Elements Festival in the Bronx, thousands of partygoers have enjoyed a busy EDM season. Thankfully, the party is not yet over and this weekend supplies two events to hoop out at before the summer ends.
Self-described as “the largest integrated media platform” event in the United States, AFROPUNK Brooklyn is a promising two-day festival with an insanely talented and diverse lineup. AFROPUNK Brooklyn invites people of different cultures to experience the tastes, sounds and passions which materialize within the nonsectarian event. AFROPUNK will present the works of artists such as Hassan Hajjaj, Miguel Ovalle while also housing a market where attendees can purchase books and jewelry inspired by African influences. Aside from the scheduled performances, the festival will have food trucks, vendors and a Battle for the Streets skating competition. Event organizers have also set up nights of after parties of live comedy and film screenings.
AFROPUNK has somehow managed to create a start to finish lineup of heavy hitting headliners. Attendees have the opportunity to see performances from Solange, Black Motion ,and Timmy Regisford. Tickets are selling fast for this weekend so hurry and purchase yours before they go!
