Austin City Limits is the ultimate Texas fall festival experience.
It takes place two weekends out of the year during October, and the line-up consists of everyone from living legends to promising newcomers. While big names like JAY-Z, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Chance the Rapper have caught the eyes of festival goers, there are several EDM acts that keep the energy bouncing throughout the three-day-long festivities. Since the beginning of the year, 21-year-old Martin Garrix has put out three solid bangers. He is headlining both Fridays of Weekends One & Two, and you will likely hear his hit collaborations with the likes of Bebe Rexha, Dua Lipa, and Troye Sivan. Crystal Castles –
After a brief hiatus away from the festival spotlight, Crystal Castles is back and ready to put on a killer show. You can catch the Canadian duo on either Friday during Austin City Limits. Their acidic, beautifully excruciating stylings are sure to take any attendee on the trip of a lifetime. Check out the crowd favorite “Not in Love” below.
Grime is currently taking over the EDM scene and UK artist Skepta is a master at his craft. His most recent album, Konnichiwa, topped the UK Independent Albums chart and was named “Best Album of 2016” by Apple Music. You can catch Skepta on both Fridays of Weekends One & Two. On either Saturday of ACL, you must catch the reigning empress of EDM. Australian producer/DJ Alison Wonderland is a bad ass boss who is skilled in the arts of chillwave, trance, trap, and trip-hop. Her set will likely include mellowed-out versions of your favorite songs, plus fan-favorites from her catalog. Check out her signature jam, “I Want U,” below!
Run The Jewels –
Closing out the Austin City Limits festivities on either Sunday are the dynamic duo, Run the Jewels. Run the Jewels consists of rapper Killer Mike and producer EI-P. All three of the pair’s studio albums have received widespread acclaim from nearly ever music publication imaginable. Their newest song “Chase Me,” which features Big Boi and Danger Mouse, was included on the Baby Driver soundtrack.
