Big Gigantic is well known among their fans and peers for giving back!
Colorado duo, Big Gigantic, has announced their plans for a charity project this year, teaming up with Denver’s Youth on Record, a local Denver group that provides students in need with more reliable and secure machines for music production and Native Instruments.
This year’s project’s, A Big Gigantic Difference Foundation, goal is to build a digital music computer lab at Youth on Record for under privileged kids in Denver, CO. However, to complete the lab, Ableton will donate discounted licenses for their Ableton Live production software, while Native Instruments will be donating Komplete Audio 6 interfaces. This projects also is set to focus funds and energy toward making the biggest possible sustaining impact for the largest number of Denver youth!
In the past, the project has raised over $20,000 and plans to raise over $50,000 by the end of this year for the computer lab. Proceeds plan to go towards space for multiple stationary iMac desktops with Ableton licenses and Adobe Creative Cloud installations, Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 Controllers, custom desks and chairs, and a one year salary for the Open Lab Instructor!
Inspired by the band’s super fan’s, the hashtag #ABigGiganticDifference was born in 2014, where Big Gigantic and their fans collected thousands of pounds of food and clothing while also running dozens of volunteer events across the country. The band then took their philanthropic spirit to the next level last year by establishing A Big Gigantic Difference Foundation and donating a portion of ticket sales to charities in each city that they played.
