Choosing A Festival To Ring In The New Year

Choosing A Festival To Ring In The New Year

Summer fades into fall. Festival season is slowly drawing to an end. However, that doesn’t mean that the festi-fun for the year is anywhere close to over. While many of us are still planning out where to celebrate Halloween, some of us are already looking ahead to New Year’s Eve. Now, when it comes to New Year’s, there are lots of different options in terms of festivals. This guide will help you find the perfect festival at which to spend your last moments of 2017 and ring in the new year with a bang.

Countdown NYE

Ah, Countdown. One of Insomniac’s most noteworthy events. This festival takes place at the infamous NOS Events Center in San Bernadino, California on December 30th & 31st. The full lineup was just released last week, and includes deadmau5, Porter Robinson, Zeds Dead b2b Jauz, Diplo, Shiba San, Datsik, and many more. This festival is known for its multiple stages and legendary totems, and is a great choice for anyone who wants to go all-out with their New Year’s experience.

Decadence

Decadence is known for being one of the biggest New Year’s celebrations out there. In previous years, Decadence had two locations — both Colorado and Arizona, taking place both the 30th and 31st. This year, for New Year’s Eve only, Decadence will also take place in Utah. A wide variety of artists and multiple locations makes this festival a hotspot for all types of ravers from all over the country. Heavy hitters such as Galantis, Armin van Buuren, Louis the Child, Snails, Porter Robinson, Zedd, and many more will make these different nights and cities come to life. This is a great festival to attend if you want to see lots of big names in one night. If you hate raving when the weather is cold, consider the Arizona location above the others.

Lights All Night

Taking place last year in both Dallas and El Paso, TX, Lights All Night is easily the favorite New Year’s event of the southern part of the country. This year’s Dallas lineup has yet to be completed, but so far certain artists have been revealed including Bassnectar, Porter Robinson, Illenium, Seven Lions, and Ookay, with lots more. This is a perfect event for those in the southern part of the country not wishing to travel for the other festivals, or those who prefer a warmer climate.

So let’s say none of these festivals suit your fancy, or maybe none of them are in a convenient location for you to easily access on that special weekend. Never fear, there are tons of other festivals to choose from, such as SnowGlobe, Bassnectar NYE Atlanta, OMFG! and more. But don’t wait — most of these festivals have already put tickets on sale, and they’re sure to go fast! Don’t miss your chance to spend your last moments of 2017 in electronic paradise.
