Euphoria Artist Interview: Maddy O’Neal
We’ve been tracking the Euphoria lineup pretty closely here on Mix247EDM, and one of the artists I was most excited to see in the festival’s phase 1 lineup was Maddy O’Neal. Maddy is a self-taught producer living in Denver, CO, and 2016 has been an exciting year for her. I was able to chat with her about what she’s been up to.
Formerly of Krooked Drivers, Maddy struck out on her own this year and put out an incredible album, “Introspect” (listen below!). As the first album under her solo project, “Introspect” is deeply personal to Maddy. In my opinion, it has the amazing quality of being both soulful and dancey at the same time.
Maddy’s music is incredibly diverse and is hard to place into a single genre. When asked how she describes her style to others, she replied that it’s a combination of soul, hip hop, and jazz. Add funk to that mix and I think you have it summed up…almost. Really, the best way to understand Maddy O’Neal’s music is to just listen to it.
To hear more about the process of creating “Introspect” and learn about what Maddy is working on now, listen to the full interview below. You can follow her on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, and download her album on iTunes, Spotify or Soundcloud. And of course, don’t miss Maddy’s set at Euphoria Festival in April 2017.
