Event Review: Splash House June Edition
If you have never attended the Palm Springs festival Splash House let me give you a little incite to what you are in store for.
Splash House is a 3 day festival that happens twice a year, June and August. The festival is an experience like no other. Although Palm Springs becomes extremely hot during these months, Festival goers have their rooms right on site either at the The Saguaro, which has a retro 1970’s feel or The Riviera so it is easy to take a break and head back to your room. As you walk down the halls, every other door is open having their own party. Most of the rooms are decorated and even have their own tables for someone to jump on to spin while escaping the heat. Also unlike other festivals you have bathrooms and showers right there, need I say more?
What is really enjoyable, besides the onsite resting and refreshing is being able to stand outside on your balcony or even splashing away in the pool while enjoying the PLUR environment. No one is rushing to the front of the stage, I mean we are talking about a pool party combined with a festival mixed in with really HOTT girls in bikinis all around. Do I have your attention yet? No surprise it was sold out. Flight Facilities threw down a decade DJ set which instantly got everyone grooving and set the vibe for the rest of the weekend.
Everyone begins arriving on Friday for the evening after-party at the the Air Museum to party with DJ’s Banter, Klatch, CID, Bearson and Flight Facilities. Being at an Air Museum you get exactly what you think you will with vintage airplanes surrounding the stage. The energy on the first evening was nothing short of amazing! Sadly it had to end but only for a few hours.
From pools to jacuzzis to hammocks, there was no short of space to party all weekend. The two hotels were going nonstop all weekend and it was hard to find time to sleep. DJ’s such as Jaime Prado, Bee’s Knees, Big Wild, returning Jai Wolf and Justin Martin at the Riveria and Just Kiddin, Billy Kenny, Croatia Squad, Lee Foss and Nora En Pure at the Saguaro hotel. From there it was back off to The Air Museum to see Christian Martin open up for Justin Jay, who brought a whole band to accompany him for his live set.
Sunday, the last day came way too quickly. After a night adventuring around the Saguaro making new friends under the hammocks and dancing the night away in too many random rooms to count, it was time to rally for another long day of amazing music. We managed to recover from our hangovers, grab some fresh Sangria and head back down to the pool
We spent most of the day at Saguaro seeing the likes of Slaptop, Bit Funk, Cutsnake, Darius, and Guy Gerber. While hopping over to the Riveria to see Jerry Folk, Treasure Fingers, Sigala, FKJ, & Odesza. As everyone gathered at Riveria to see Odesza close out the weekend, you could feel the energy and echoes throughout the entire hotel. It was a perfect set to end the weekend with and you could tell no one wanted to leave this magical place, but who would?
Luckily we won’t have to wait long for the next Splash House. August will be here in no time we will make our return for more fun in the sun at the most epic pool party you can wish for. Oh and did I mention all the sexiness. Lot’s of sexiness.
Splash House returns to Palm Springs August 12-14 . Tickets are still available at splashhouse.com.
