What to Expect at Lights All Night
To close off 2016 and ring in a new year, lovers of electronic dance music can encompass themselves with good vibes at Dallas’s own Lights All Night festival. Now, I have a confession to make; this will be my first time attending Lights All Night. That’s right, after all these years of living in Dallas, I have never been to the famous EDM festival. I know Lights All Night is a holy mecca for southern EDM lovers, and I am looking forward to my first time there. In anticipation of the two-day festival, I have created a guide of what to expect.
Weather: The weather in Texas is rather unpredictable, however, given that the festival will take place at the very end of year, you should definitely pack a jacket and a nice pair of jeans. A fair portion of the festival will take place indoors at Dallas Market Hall, so there’s no need to go full NYFW with your attire.
Traffic: After having lived in Dallas for nearly all of my life’s 22 years, I can vouch for the fact that traffic is a pain in the backside. If you are driving in from a distant city, I highly recommend planning your trip out with plenty of time. Luckily, the DART Market Center train station is a 15 minute walk from Dallas Market Hall. Taking the train from your hotel is an ideal alternative to sitting in stop-and-go traffic.
Uber: Given that Light’s All Night is a New Year’s event, alcohol consumption is bound to take place. Luckily, Mix 24/7 will give you $15 off of your first Uber ride. Just type in Alexg1304 in the promo code bar, and you’re good to go.
Who to see: The Lights All Night 2016 lineup consists of everyone from EDM OGs to promising up-and-comers. Personally, I am excited to see Deadmau5, Zedd, A-Trak, and Wolfgang Gartner.
Lights All Night is about seven weeks away, however, you can subscribe to our Spotify playlist, and we will keep you updated with tracks from artists set to perform.
