Tim Gartz is a Swedish DJ/Producer with the roots in Stockholm. Tim started as a bedroom DJ/Producer like many other young talents, but there was something that was really special about his music. He had the feelings about the perfect outstanding melodies. He produced a lot of progressive house with many different plucks that makes his melodies quite unique. 2013 his first single “Shine” hit over 100.000 plays on Spotify in just a couple of months. Later the same year he signed deal with Art & Music in Italy and D2E in Greece. Lots of doors opened for the Swedish DJ.
It was a joy to get to know this very talented DJ/Producer. Check out the interview below and follow his journey.
You began producing remixes in your teens. How has your style changed since then or is it the same?
I started out with making hard tracks. Avicii and Swedish House Mafia inspired many of my tracks. I believe I changed my style first when I heard the remix of Waves by Robin Schulz, such an amazing track!
Who have been your inspirations growing up who also inspire you today?
As many other says…Avicii, Alesso, SHM and many more! Today I get my inspiration from Robin Schulz and Eric Prydz!
Tell us about your upcoming track “Uptown Girl” what do you want your fans to take away from that song?
Uptown Girl is my biggest release so far, I have never been so happy about releasing a track before! I want my fans to feel the happiness and the great things in life when listening to this track.
Who would you love to collaborate with in the future?
My goal is to collab with Robin Schulz for sure! 😉
What sets you apart from other DJ/Producers out there?
It’s a really hard question to answer, I try to do everything I can to be the one of a kind producer. I do not spam my tracks on every Facebook wall, that’s one thing maybe. *hehe*.
What are currently your main challenges as a DJ?
It might sound stupid but I don’t play live so often, right now I cancel all my requests to create music in the studio instead. My goal is to play a live set on a huge beach! Give me that gig and I will
for sure say yes! 😉
What is one track/song that never gets old for you no matter how many times you hear it? Any genre
Tell us about Tim Gartz TV and Radio Show
My TV and Radio Show was a really fun project started by my label Casual Music. Every month I picked out some really hot new tracks and made like a radio show that was live on air at JRFM Radio, thanks for the support!
One of the live streams you did recently was you playing a piano, which was captivating to listen to. When did you learn to play?
First of all, thank you! My dad bought a piano so I started to play just for fun. I really never use any live piano in my tracks but one day I want to play live on a huge stage before my set
If you were not a DJ what would you be doing?
I have no idea really
What do you enjoy doing in your down time?
I loooove to play the piano & hang out with my girlfriend Malin.
If you could have a super power what would it be?
I would be flying all over the world
What’s on tap next? What are you most excited about for 2016?
My new releases on two of my favorite dutch labels; Airborne and Armada plus some other huge stuff coming up, can’t tell about them yet but soon enough, lots of stuff in the pipe atm.
Please tell everyone where they can follow you
Do you have any shout-out’s or thank you’s
I want to make A shout-out to my dad “Jim Gartz” that always supports me.
