Imagine Music and Lost Lands: The Top 5 Sets

Imagine Music and Lost Lands: The Top 5 Sets

Fall is here and with it came two big EDM Festivals to kick it off. Imagine Music Festival in held its second year in Atlanta, GA and Excision’s Lost Lands Festival was held in Thornville, Ohio. Imagine took us into an Aquatic Fairytale while Lost Lands was a Dubstep Dinosaur World. Even though it’s getting colder it doesn’t mean festival season is over yet.  We’ve ranked the top five sets at each of fall’s first two EDM Festivals and you should definitely give them a listen. Here are the Top 5 Sets of Imagine and Lost Lands

Imagine Music and Lost Lands: The Top 5 Sets

Imagine Music Festival:

5. Seven Lions

Imagine Music Festival’s mainstage Oceania has some crazy lasers and they went off like crazy for Seven Lions. The DJ threw down one of his sickest sets accompanied by a ridiculous production. Overall his set engaged us, made us cry, made us sing but there were some moments of “Okay next song please”.

4. Deadmau5

Deadmau5 was mysterious, ominous and perfect to finish off night two with. His set never had a dull moment. He even started “spamming” his mic say things like he just had four beers. LOL. It was definitely one of the weekend’s most anticipated and funny sets and Deadmau5 didn’t fail to deliver.

NGHTMRE THREW DOWN. This artist really delivered some much needed bass and got the crowd going. He had some of the best energy and  build ups of the weekend. This was the set that satisfied a bass lover’s appetite and made all the post head-banging soreness worth it.

2. Above & Beyond

Who doesn’t love Above & Beyond? Easily the most moving set of the weekend and it came with fireworks. Lyrics were typed on the screen for you to sing along with. The only reason this wasn’t mind-blowing was because they just blew everyone’s minds at their epic ABGT 250 show a week prior to Imagine.

1. Claude VonStroke

Claude VonStroke. Groovy. Deep. I dare you to stand still to his set. The Dirtybird Records owner closed the weekend at the Disco Inferno stage and let me tell you, you did NOT want to miss it. He’s a legend for a reason. We don’t have a full set, but we do have a sample of what he dished out.

 Lost Lands Festival:

5. Zeds Dead

Zeds Dead is known for mixing the most addictive melodies with some sick bass and dub. They made sure of that at Lost Lands. Add some eye spasming production and the duo earns a top 5 spot for Lost Lands.

4. Sullivan King

Day Sets get a bad rap for not being as good as the night sets. Sullivan King proved that wrong. His 3:30 set was filthy and dirty – Just what you need to get you going for Day 2. Metal His heavy metal screaming and guitar sounds had the crowd going hard.

Ghastly went in and his set irresistibly danceable. He earns a higher for being unique and having variety in his set. Opening with Disney’s “Fantasia” isn’t something we see much of and throwing in some future house here and there is why he’s number 3 on our list. We don’t have a video but we DO have the FULL SET.

2. Snails

What would a bass and dubstep festival be without Snails? His signature green-themed production fit right in at Lost Lands. Throw in fire, lasers, and those good ol’ “drip drip” sounds to his set and Snails easily wins as one of the best sets of the weekend and takes 2nd place.

1. Destroid

Destroid was LIT! Literally. He was melting our faces off when the stage’s Volcano took that term too seriously and caught fire. Destroid’s set was cut short because of the incident but it was quickly fixed and reopened for Zeds Dead. What we got before the volcano caught on fire was the some of the best 45 minutes of music of Lost Lands 2017.
