Kygo Teases Upcoming Album, Kids in Love
Over the course of the past week, Norwegian DJ/producer Kygo has been teasing the release of his upcoming sophomore album, Kids in Love. Kygo‘s career has been on full blast this past year, with his Selena Gomez collaboration “It Ain’t Me” reaching number 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Charts, along with his Apple Music-exclusive documentary. Kygo plans on wrapping up a big year with a new album set for release on November 3.
Kids in Love comes only 18 months after his debut album, Cloud 9, and only six weeks after his most recent EP, Stargazing.
Since announcing Kids in Love, Kygo has released four tracks and will continue to release a new track each day during the week leading up to the album’s release.
The first of the teaser tracks is the album’s title track, which features pop group The Night Game. “Kids in Love” has a synth-infused 80’s rock influence, which sets the tone for what fans can expect from the upcoming album.
The second of the tracks is “Never Let You Go,” which features vocalist John Newman. Like the title track, “Never Let You Go” also contains 80’s rock influence, but there’s a bouncy electronic dance break following the chorus.
The third track is “Sunrise,” which features Jason Walker. “Sunrise” contains instrumentation with synths, piano, and violins, and its style is more similar to the tropical house sound Kygo became famous for.
The fourth, and most recent promo track is “Riding Shotgun,” which features additional production from Oliver Nelson, along with vocals from singer/songwriter from Bonnie McKee. McKee has previously penned tracks from Britney Spears, Katy Perry, and Carly Rae Jepsen, the latter of which seems to be channeled in McKee’s vocal delivery.
Kygo is set to release four more new tracks from Kids in Love over the course of the week. In the mean time, let us know what your favorite new Kygo song is thus far!
