Manufactured Superstars Return to Denver [Event Review]
Denver DJs Shawn Sabo and Bradley Roulier, better known as Manufactured Superstars, have enormous pride in their hometown. They’ve traveled the world playing music but something special about Denver always keeps them coming back.
Manufactured Superstars threw down at the Beta Nightclub, fittingly enough headlining Beta’s Superstar Saturdays. Every Saturday Denver’s Beta Nightclub (which is owned by Bradley Roulier) has special guests curated by the Manufactured Superstars themselves. Whenever the boys are in town, they get to lead the charge themselves and they never waste the opportunity.
DJ Spencer Flower opened the night with a well-received house set. As the crowd started to pick up he mixed in some heavier songs and even mixed in a little moombahton. Already Sweaty was passed the torch and he wasted no time delving into his dubstep/house set. I thought he had good taste on when to mix in the heavier stuff, letting the crowd dictate his song choice and reactions.
After a Mix 247 EDM interview with Shawn Sabo of Manufactured Superstars (which you can listen to here), the pair took to the stage and hit the club with a lightening bolt.
Manufactured Superstars are known for their “open format” DJ shows, sometimes playing a track a minute. Though they’ve scrapped their spacesuits, they still know how to bring a strong presence to their live show. Their eclectic song choices, live edits and stage confidence make their house sets so enjoyable. Jumping around from club bangers to their latest releases to modern hits Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” kept the Beta crowd on their toes and Manufactured Superstars as the focal point.
I had a fantastic time at their set and I highly encourage you to check out Manufactured Superstars and the future lineup for Superstar Saturdays. Life is far too short not to have as much fun as the Superstars do.
