Mysteryland 2017 Drops Most Diverse Lineup to Date
Mysteryland is truly the most magical festival in all of New York. I’ve had the pleasure of attending the last 2 years of Mysteryland at its glorious and historic home of Bethel Woods, the site of the original Woodstock. You really can’t beat the energy in a place like that.
While Mysteryland has typically put a prominent focus on electronic music in the past, this year’s lineup is more eclectic and widespread than ever. There are many artists you might expect to see on past Mysteryland lineups – Porter Robinson, Major Lazer, Big Gigantic and Bob Moses, to name a few. But you also have LCD Soundsystem, G-Eazy and Run the Jewels. I’m particularly intrigued by the idea of a Flight Facilities DJ set, too.
Art & Activities
It’s not just the music that makes Mysteryland such an amazing festival, however. There’s art and interactive elements everywhere. You might take a photo with your friends inside a larger-than-life photo frame shaped like a TV screen. You can swing on a swing made of teddy bears. Or go through the human car wash, which is a short tunnel with streamers and fun noodles hanging down from it, and which terminates in a teeny dance party room, complete with its own DJ.
The Best Part!
My favorite thing about Mysterylands past was the healing garden (well, favorite besides listening to great music all day). A peaceful, zen area a short walk away from the festival stages, the healing garden is a great place to relax for a few minutes and catch your breath. There are yoga classes, workshops, and other things to explore. So take a quick break and check it out.
Mysteryland 2017 will take place on June 9-12, and tickets are on sale now! Prices start at the super-reasonable $199 plus fees. So definitely carve out some time to take in the magic of the Woodstock grounds this summer.
