New Island of Light Festival Will Cure Your (Future) Winter Blues

Would you like to attend an amazing 4-day music festival on a luxurious private island? Before you run scared thinking I’m trying to pitch you Fyre Festival, read on. Derek Vincent Smith, AKA Pretty Lights, has just announced his own curated music festival called Island of Light, and this sounds like the real deal.

Island of Light will take place from December 7 through December 10, right in time for that summer nostalgia to kick in. The location? El Conquistador, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in beautiful Puerto Rico. If that doesn’t pique your interest as it is, check this out:

Island of Light attendees will be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With the main stage located on a private island that you boat to and from, to daytime poolside sets, and a late night ballroom experience; music will be plentiful and programmed around the clock. Additional experiential perks include world-class art installations, award-winning pools, high-end on-site restaurants, and the gorgeous Atlantic Ocean engulfed beach on the island.”

Do you want to take a boat to get to your festival main stage? I do!

But let’s talk about the most important detail. And by that I obviously mean the music. In addition to 3 sets by Pretty Lights Live (Derek plus a full band), you can also look forward to performances by:

Emancipator Ensemble
Break Science
Michal Menert
Ganja White Night
The Floozies
Manic Focus
Maddy O’Neal

AND MORE. I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the first time I’ve ever seen a festival lineup where I am excited about 100% of the acts.

Stay up to date on all the important details here. Prices will be announced tomorrow, May 10th, and I’ll be honest with you – you may want to start saving those pennies. Island of Light is an all-inclusive experience, which includes food, drinks, transportation from the airport, and lodging. So while I can’t say yet what it will cost, expect it to cost quite a bit more than your average festival.

But, it should go without saying, Island of Light is not going to be your average festival. So get excited for the tropical, musical adventure of a lifetime.
