New Year’s Eve; EDM Events in LA

Ladies and gentlemen, the ball will not be the only thing dropping on the strike of midnight.

New Year’s Eve is less than a week away, and Los Angeles has a buffet of options for EDM fans to have a plateful of fun. With all the different events taking place, it can get very over whelming trying to decide what to do or what the best options are.

Some of the big events of the upcoming weekend will be organized by Insomniac. Many different big named EDM DJs will be performing at a wide array of clubs. The only sold out show is The Chainsmokers performing on December 30th at the LA Convention.

Other Insomniac events on the 30th include Jordan Suckley, Eddie Bitar, and Menno De Jong at Exchange LA and Deorro at Create Nightclub. On New Year’s Eve, Insomniac has a plethora of shows with some of the hottest DJs:

Green Velvet and Calude Vonstroke at Factory 93 Warehouse.

Duke Dumont at Exchange LA.

Dash Berlin at Create Nightclub.

Countdown 2016 at NOS Events Center.

Countdown 2016 is the biggest EDM event on the West Coast that will be celebrating the birth of 2017. It is a two day event that has three different stages allowing fans to see various artists throughout the night and early morning. A total of 54 artists will take the stages including Steve Aoki, Zedd, Diplo, Valention Kahn, Nghtmare, and Lane 8. Tickets are on sale for $99.99 for a one-day admission and $199.99 for a two-day admission.

If ravers are not able to catch an Insomniac event, have no fear, there are a lot of opportunities to catch other EDM shows out in LA. Sound Nightclub will be throwing a party with hosts Moon Boots and Kidnap Kid. Markus Schultz will be performing at Avalon Hollywood, and Lonely Boy with Ricoshei at Lincoln Speakeasy.

Another big EDM show that will be taking place at the LA Center Studio in downtown is the Minimal Effort NYE event. This party goes from 4 PM to 4 AM and will have artists Matthew Dear, Simian Mobile Disco, Stephan Bodzin, and many other DJs performing energetic and insane sets.

Expect a whole bunch of bass drops as soon as the ball drops and 2017 arrives.
