Odesza And Mura Masa Are Big Contenders For The 2018 Grammy Awards
The complete list of nominees for the 60th Grammy Awards has been released. Although no EDM tracks made the cut for “Song of the Year”, some artists in the dance/electronic scene are being noticed big time.
This year’s nominees for best dance/electronic album include works such as “Migration” by Bonobo, “3-D the Catalouge” produced by Kraftwerk, Mura Masa representing the EDM crew with his own titled work “Mura Masa”, Odesza‘s uplifting recent album “A Moment Apart”, and Sylvan Esso‘s “What Now”. We’re so excited to see more EDM tracks taking over Grammy awards!
This year’s nominees for best dance recording include Bonobo and Innov Gnawa‘s “Bambro Koyo Ganda”, Camelphat & Elderbrook’s “Cola”, the legendary Gorillaz and their track “Andromeda” featuring D.R.A.M., LCD Soundsystem‘s “Tonite”, and Odesza taking the leap with “Line of Sight”, featuring Wynne & Masionair.
Hip-hop will definitely take over the Grammy stage this year, with nearly every “Song of the Year” and “Album of the Year” nomination being within the genre. However, EDM is definitely making a name for itself with strong artists.
A Grammy Award or Grammy is an honor awarded by The Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest. It shares recognition of the music industry as that of the other performance awards such as the Academy Awards (film), the Emmy Awards (television), and the Tony Awards (theatre).
The 60th Grammy Awards show will air on January 28th from Madison Square Garden in New York City– make sure to tune in. It’s gonna’ be a good one this year!
