ODESZA, FKJ And More Take Over Red Rocks

This past Memorial Day weekend was certainly one to remember, with ODESZA performing back-to-back sold out shows at Red Rocks. These shows took place on Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th. Throughout the weekend, ODESZA was joined by numerous talented acts and brought in fans from all over to celebrate the holiday weekend Red Rocks style.

Sunday night featured multiple openers, including French artist FKJ. Up until his set, the crowd had been in a relaxed state – eating, drinking, sitting around, and chatting. When his music began to sing through the audience, many listeners suddenly stopped what they were doing, stood up, and began to dance. Though FKJ’s sound differs quite a bit from ODESZA’s, he definitely seemed to have something for everyone. Between hip-hop, jazz, and much more, FKJ played a variety of instruments and created all kinds of groovy sounds for the crowd to vibe to. He was exactly what the crowd needed to get in the mood for the main event.

When ODESZA took the stage, it was no surprise that the crowd went wild. Their entrance was theatrical in every way. The duo were positioned on a platform, each of them being on opposite sides of the structure. They were facing away from each other, each facing towards his own instrument. Throughout the set, they both alternated instruments, between large drums and keyboards/synthesizers. During multiple songs, a drumline came out and performed along with them, adding to the intensity and beauty of the performance.

Between music old and new, ODESZA had the crowd mesmerized all night. When the intro to “Say My Name” started to play, the entire amphitheater seemed to erupt with joy.

So, what if you weren’t able to make it to either of these legendary nights? Not to worry, ODESZA is likely to be back to Red Rocks – as they’ve played here (and sold out) more than once. However, if you’re wanting to catch them a bit sooner, consider checking them out at one of their tour or festival dates this summer. It’s sure to be a night you’ll never forget!
