Ring In 2017 With 2 Nights of Pretty Lights in New Orleans
Pretty Lights will be ushering in 2017 with an unforgettable 2-night event in New Orleans, Louisiana. So if you were unsure of where to be when the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, look no further.
This New Year’s Eve extravaganza is shaping up to be massive. Derek Vincent Smith, the man behind Pretty Lights, is a Colorado native but has lived in New Orleans for some time now, so this event promises to be an extra special hometown throwdown.
Both nights at Mardi Gras World will feature Pretty Lights along with a full band. I was fortunate to see the band twice on tour this year, and the depth and richness these talented musicians bring to Pretty Lights’s soulful and funky sounds is unparalleled. Truly like music being brought to life.
In addition to an extended Pretty Lights set on the 31st (yay!), support over the 2 nights will include electro-hip hop producer Manic Focus, the beautiful melodies of Emancipator, champion turntablist Chris Karns (who also plays with the PL live band), and more.
If you’ve never been to a PL show, here are some things you should know:
- You will dance
- You will make new friends
- You will feel all the feelings (in the best way possible)
I, for one, am making the trip to NOLA from New York for this event. Though this will be far from my first Pretty Lights show, it will be my first time ringing in the new year with PL and my Pretty Lights Family, and I absolutely cannot wait.
For more information and ticketing visit prettylightsmusic.com. Tickets range from general admission passes to the super VIP “Family Pass,” which includes special sets, open bar, and other goodies. I’ll see you there!
