Steve Aoki just dropped a new video for his collaboration with Linkin Park on “Darker Than Blood” The dance-driven song is featured on Steve Aoki’s Neon Future II album, which was released back in May. The effort also features collaborations with Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo and Snoop Lion. The video, directed by Dan Packer and conceptualized by Steve Aoki, features the DJ and producer along with Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda as scientists hard at work to find a cure for a virus that is rapidly killing humans.
“Darker Than Blood” is not the first collaboration between Linkin Park and Steve Aoki. The two recorded “A Light That Never Comes” on LP’s 2013 remix album Recharged and also hooked up earlier this year on the song “Horizons.”Speaking about the vido’s concept that he came up with himself, Aoki says “We brought more of the emotional side to our music with dark lyrics and soaring vocals from the Linkin Park camp and an anthemic drop to suit the track. The music video is along the same lines. Me and Mike Shinoda are in the future trying to save [people from] a virus that kills off the human race in the past.“
As they attempt to find the cure for the disease, they inoculate a test subject that appears to be Steve Aoki as a child.
