Stick Figure Kicks Off Above The Storm Tour

Reggae and dub group Stick Figure will soon be kicking off their nationwide multi-city tour Above the Storm tour next week. Joining them on the 16 city tour are jam band Twiddle and Los Angeles-based group Iya Terra.

The band, originally a one-man show fueled by self-taught musician Scott Woodruff, now consists of four members including Scott: Kevin Bong (KBong) on keyboards, Kevin Offitzer on drums and bassist Tommy Suliman with Scott upfront on guitar and vocals.

Stick Figure recently released their single ‘Above the Storm’ and is the tip of the iceberg to an impressive musical repertoire that includes six albums since the band’s inception in 2006.  Stick Figure fuses a groovy sound with a sparkling electronic orchestra and thick rhythms to create songs and sounds founded from reggae.

Their last full album Set in Stone (2015) is a work that not only features some of the band’s musical inspirations including Collie Buddz (‘Smokin’ Love‘) and Rebelution‘s Eric Rachmany (‘Mind Block‘) but expresses life’s ultimate challenge: balance. Life’s push and pull between struggle and contentment. Take a listen to the album yourself on their Soundcloud.

Their concerts are gatherings distinguished by extended improvisational interludes, mind-manifesting hues of light shows, and of course, the much-anticipated entrance of the band’s canine mascot, a rescued Australian Shepherd, Cocoa The Tour Dog.
