What to Expect at JMBLYA
JMBLYA is arguably one of Dallas’s most anticipated festivals of the year. While festivals like Lights All Night and Something Wonderful showcase house, trance, and progressive EDM, JMBLYA focuses on showcasing the trap, grime, and dubstep subgenres, as well as hip-hop, rap and alternative R&B.
A lot of notable EDM and trap acts have performed sets at JMBLYA in the past during their pre-fame eras, including Cashmere Cat, Metro Boomin’, Baauer, and RL Grime.
While not all of the acts have been announced, the line-up appears to be promising thus far, featuring several must-see sets by artists who have taken the past few years by storm.
Chance the Rapper, who pretty much owned 2016 with his third solo mixtape, Coloring Book, shows no signs of stopping in 2017. He is set to headline the two-day festival (Friday in Dallas, Saturday in Austin), and is guaranteed to put on an exciting, colorful show. This will be Chance’s second time appearing at JMBLYA.
Steve Aoki is without a doubt one of the must-sees at JMBLYA. Whether he drops his cult classic remix of Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness”, or one of his many all star vocalist collaborations, Aoki is sure to turn up the crowd.
One of the promising acts will be R&B newcomer 6LACK, who came to light last year with his track “Ex Calling”, a rewrite of Future’s “Perkys Calling”.
Adding some girl power to the line-up is Mexican rapper Snow Tha Product. Snow recently contributed a verse to The Hamilton Mixtape and has also collaborated with the likes of Joell Ortiz, Twista, and Krayzie Bone.
As more artists are announced, Mix 247 EDM will keep up you updated.
