Where in the World is Cashmere Cat’s Album?
It is without a doubt that 29-year-old Magnus Høiberg, better known as Cashmere Cat, is at the peak of his career. Over the course of the past year, the Norwegian DJ/Producer has crafted tracks for the likes of Kanye West, Britney Spears, The Weeknd and more. Despite his impressive resume, Cashmere Cat has yet to drop a full-length album of his own.
Last August, he announced his debut album, originally titled Wild Love, along with the premiere of the titular single featuring The Weeknd and Francis & The Lights. Since then, he has released collaborations with Selena Gomez, Tory Lanez, 2 Chainz and most recently MØ and Sophie, all set to be part of the album’s tracklisting.
He has released a total of five tracks throughout the course of the past eight months, but one question remains; Where is the album?
Eight months is an unusually long promotional period for an LP, however, Cashmere Cat has assured us that we probably won’t have to wait much longer.
This past Monday, Cashmere Cat revealed two things via Twitter. The album is in fact complete and its title has been changed to 9, named after the most recent single, which features MØ and Sophie.
Apart from the album, Cashmere Cat has also produced “Now or Never,” the lead single from Halsey‘s upcoming sophomore album, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom.

Now that the album is confirmed to be finished, it shouldn’t be too long that we’re all vibing out to his grimy, Japanese inspired tracks.
Granted, working with people like Kanye West and Britney Spears would make a producer a perfectionist, so 9 will likely prove worth the wait.
