Zedd Confirms Fundraiser Concert “WELCOME!”

Zedd Confirms Fundraiser Concert “WELCOME!”

German-born wunderkind Zedd has revealed plans for a fundraiser concert aimed at collecting donations for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Since President Donald Trump enacted his immigration travel ban, Zedd has been a vocal critic on Twitter. As a Russian-born immigrant currently living in America on a visa, Zedd has expressed a personal concern with the immigration ban. After Sia, Grimes and others began asking for ACLU donations, Zedd quickly tweeted several musicians calling for a show supporting the ACLU.

Today, Zedd revealed the benefit concert, aptly named “WELCOME!”, will be divided into separate phases. Phase 1 will be coming to the Staples Center in Los Angeles on April 3rd. His open invitation to form an ACLU benefit concert has been answered by some huge names in the music industry, including Skrillex, Incubus, Halsey, Daya, Imagine Dragons, Macklemore and Tinashe. Zedd has tweeted that “I asked artists to perform anywhere from 3 songs to 30mins … some artists will do acoustic sets, some will do unique collaborations.” He’s also confirmed that all proceeds are going directly to the ACLU.

Full details and tickets will go on sale next Thursday, February 9th. Zedd and his team impressively organized this concert in about two days, so the lineup and details might be subject to change as we approach the concert date. We’ll keep you updated with any announcements regarding the WELCOME! fundraising concert.
