Zhu’s New Teaser, “Hold Up, Wait A Minute” Is One Of His Best Yet
For those unfamiliar with the name, Zhu mysteriously popped into the scene a little over a year ago, with his hit track “Faded” premiering on Pete Tong’s BBC Essential Mix. Prior to that, his remix “Moves Like Ms Jackson” from the popular Outkast track, confounded artists and fans alike with all wondering the identity of this secret producer. Even after his music started gaining notoriety in the music scene, Zhu’s identity has still remained secretive to this day. He played his first show in Australia, followed by his US debut last year at Hard Day Of The Dead, in Los Angeles. At that show, he played behind a curtain with similar animations to the video below that guided the audience along his musical story. He is set to play once more in California this upcoming weekend on October 10th in San Diego at CRSSD Fest.
Subscribers to Zhu’s new Generation Why campaign have been receiving snippets every Monday with teasers for his new upcoming album release. His newest one that came out today, “Hold Up, Wait A Minute” is a collaboration with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony as well as Trombone Shorty. It features his signature hauntingly eerie yet beautiful vocal breakdowns with a bumping, funky beat that is impossible to not groove to. Peep the video below.
His other snippets include: his first released collab from three weeks ago with AlunaGeorge, titled “Automatic” that has a gorgeus saxophone breakdown and can be viewed here:

The other two snippets are a collaboration with A-Trak and Keznamdi titled, “As Crazy As It Is” which is laced with heavy reggae & dub influences, and his collab with Gallant titled “Testarossa Music” which was just released last week.
