The 2023-24 NBA regular season is coming to a close this Sunday with a jam-packed schedule of 15 games across all 30 teams. The Boston Celtics have clinched the No. 1 overall seed, giving them homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs.
In the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks are set to face off in the No. 4 vs. 5 matchup for the third time in five years. Meanwhile, the battle for the No. 1 seed in the West is heating up, with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Denver Nuggets all tied with identical records of 56-25.
Over in the East, the Chicago Bulls will host the Atlanta Hawks in the No. 9 vs. 10 Play-In game. The race for playoff seeds is tight, with the New Orleans Pelicans and Phoenix Suns fighting for the No. 6 seed in the West, and the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks vying for the No. 2 seed in the East.
The Play-In spots in the West are still wide open, with no team securing a position yet. In the East, the Orlando Magic, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers are all deadlocked at 46-35, battling for two automatic playoff spots.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards are competing for the worst record in the league, while the Charlotte Hornets, Portland Trail Blazers, and San Antonio Spurs are fighting for the third-worst record.
With so many teams tied in the standings, coin flips may be necessary to determine draft lottery positioning in the event of tiebreakers. Stay tuned as the regular season reaches its thrilling conclusion this weekend.
