Starbucks fans were left disappointed when the coffee giant confirmed that it would not be restocking the viral pink Quencher cup from Stanley. The limited-edition cup, which was released on January 3, was only available at Starbucks locations inside Target stores. Social media was flooded with videos of eager fans lining up and rushing into Target stores in hopes of snagging one of the coveted cups.
The release of the Quencher cup coincided with Starbucks’ introduction of its new winter menu and expansion of its “Bring Your Own Cup” policy. Previously, customers were only allowed to use their own cups in-store, but now they can bring them for drive-thru and mobile orders as well.
The 40 fl. oz stainless steel tumbler, which retailed for $49.95, quickly sold out and is now being resold for higher prices on websites like eBay. This isn’t the first time Stanley has seen success with Target-exclusive tumblers. On December 31, the company released the Cosmo Pink and Target Red tumblers as part of Target’s “Galentine’s Collection,” and they also sold out quickly. Fans once again camped out at Target stores across the country in hopes of getting their hands on these limited-edition items.
It remains unclear if Target has any plans to restock the Stanley cups in the future. However, fans can still purchase other colors of the popular Stanley cups at various retailers. For now, those who missed out on the pink Quencher cup will have to keep their eyes peeled for any potential restocks or explore other options.
