OnePlus 12, the highly anticipated smartphone from OnePlus, has been officially announced in China and will soon be available worldwide. The company has opened preorders for the OnePlus 12 in the US, with open sales set to begin on February 7.
While the pricing for the OnePlus 12 has not yet been announced, industry experts expect it to be in line with the previous model, OnePlus 11. The base model of the OnePlus 12 will come with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, while a higher-spec option will offer 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM.
Powering the OnePlus 12 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, ensuring fast and smooth performance. The phone is equipped with three rear cameras, each branded by renowned camera manufacturer Hasselblad. This guarantees stunning photography capabilities for users.
The OnePlus 12 also boasts a large 6.82-inch display with an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits. On the back, the phone features a unique wavy effect with a matte finish, available in silky black and flowy emerald colors.
A standout feature of the OnePlus 12 is its charging capabilities. It offers both 80-watt wired charging and wireless charging, including speeds of up to 50W with the AirVOOC charger. The phone is also IP65-rated for water- and dust-resistance, adding to its durability.
Additionally, the OnePlus 12 includes the popular OnePlus staples such as an alert slider and fingerprint sensor. It supports Wi-Fi 7 and runs on the latest Android 14 operating system. OnePlus has also promised four years of major Android software updates for the device.
Interested buyers can purchase the OnePlus 12 from major retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy, as well as directly from the OnePlus website.
Alongside the OnePlus 12, OnePlus is also launching the OnePlus 12R. This model offers pared-back specs and a lower price point compared to the OnePlus 12. The OnePlus 12R features the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a slightly larger battery, and 80W fast charging.
Although the OnePlus 12R lacks the high-end camera specs of its counterpart, it does offer screen usability even when wet and software optimizations specifically tailored for gaming. The OnePlus 12R is expected to be more affordable than the OnePlus 12, making it a budget-friendly option for consumers.
Full reviews of both the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R will be available at the time of their launch, giving users a comprehensive understanding of the phones’ features and performance.
