Linebacker Eric Kendricks chooses Cowboys over 49ers
Linebacker Eric Kendricks has made the decision to join the Dallas Cowboys for the upcoming season, turning down an offer from the San Francisco 49ers. Kendricks has signed a one-year agreement with the Cowboys, reuniting with defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who previously coached him during his time with the Minnesota Vikings.
According to sources, Zimmer was eager to bring Kendricks on board to help run the defense in Dallas. Kendricks, who was released by the Los Angeles Chargers due to salary cap constraints, ultimately chose to play for the Cowboys over the 49ers.
The 2023 season saw Kendricks make an impact with 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble. After spending eight seasons with the Vikings and being selected to his one and only Pro Bowl in 2019, Kendricks was released in the 2022 offseason.
Throughout his career, Kendricks has accumulated an impressive 1,036 tackles and 18.5 sacks. His decision to join the Cowboys will bring his experience and talent to a new team as they look to strengthen their defense for the upcoming season.
