ISIS Claims Responsibility for Deadly Attack at Concert Venue Near Moscow
In a tragic turn of events, ISIS has claimed responsibility for a deadly attack at a popular concert venue near Moscow. The attack, which involved gunmen and incendiary devices, resulted in the death of at least 60 people and left 145 others injured. Footage from the scene showed the venue engulfed in flames, with Russia reporting that the roof partially collapsed.
Authorities have been working tirelessly to bring the fire under control, more than six hours after the initial attack. The assailants were said to have made their escape in a white Renault car.
This attack marks the deadliest in Moscow in decades, occurring shortly after Vladimir Putin’s election win. The band Picnic was scheduled to perform at the venue, fortunately leaving the performers unharmed.
President Putin has been briefed on the situation and is closely monitoring the measures being taken on the ground. The US embassy in Russia had previously issued a warning about potential attacks on large gatherings.
The international community, including the UN, France, India, and Saudi Arabia, has come together to condemn the attack and offer their solidarity to Russia during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this senseless act of violence.
