A Boeing 737 operated by Air Sénégal skidded off the runway during takeoff at an airport in Senegal, resulting in 10 people being injured. Local media reports initially stated that 11 people were injured, with four of them being seriously hurt. The incident, which occurred at 1:14 a.m., caused panic as intense video footage shared on Facebook showed people evacuating the plane following an “acceleration stop” during takeoff.
The aircraft was carrying 79 passengers, four cabin crew members, and two pilots at the time of the incident. Senegal’s transport minister has ordered an investigation into the cause of the accident and apologized to the passengers affected by the scary ordeal.
In a separate incident, another Boeing 737 encountered issues while landing at a Turkish airport. The nose landing gear of a Corendon Airline aircraft broke, causing a tire to burst and damage the strut, but fortunately, there were no injuries among the 184 passengers and 6 crew members onboard.
This marks the second accident involving a Boeing plane in Turkey in as many days, as a FedEx cargo plane also experienced a landing gear issue at Istanbul Airport, with no injuries reported. Mix247edm has reached out to Boeing for comment on these concerning incidents.
