SpaceX Set to Attempt Third Starship Mission After Previous Launches End in Explosion
In a bid to further its mission of exploring the moon and Mars, SpaceX is gearing up for a third Starship launch on March 14, following two previous missions that ended in explosions.
Despite the mishaps, the missions were considered successful in collecting valuable data for the company. The upcoming mission will be live-streamed on X, Elon Musk’s social media platform, as well as on SpaceX’s own platform.
The third mission aims to complete important tasks such as opening payload doors and transferring propellant. The new flight path will see Starship land in the Indian Ocean, with in-space engine burns planned as part of the mission.
Previous Starship missions in April and November resulted in forced detonations and explosions due to issues with liquid oxygen. However, SpaceX remains undeterred, viewing the missions as successful stepping stones towards their ultimate goal.
Regulatory approval pending, the third mission is set to take place on March 14 and will offer two livestream options for viewers to watch the launch in real-time. SpaceX continues to push forward in its quest for space exploration, with the Starship project playing a crucial role in their ambitious plans for the future.
