Netflix has officially announced the exciting cast lineup for the highly anticipated second season of its popular Addams Family spinoff series Wednesday, with actress Jenna Ortega set to lead the ensemble. However, fans may be shocked to learn that three regular cast members from Season 1 will not be returning in the same capacity for Season 2.
One familiar face that viewers can look forward to seeing again is Jamie McShane, who will reprise his role as Sheriff Donovan Galpin as a guest star in the upcoming season. Speculation among fans suggests that Sheriff Galpin’s character may meet a dramatic end in Season 2, adding an element of suspense to the series.
In addition to Ortega and McShane, returning series regulars include Hunter Doohan, who will continue the storyline of his character Tyler/Hyde, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, whose character Deputy Ritchie Santiago will be promoted to a series regular role.
Some characters will not be making a return, such as Naomi J Ogawa’s Yoko Tanaka. However, new faces will be joining the cast, including Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor. These additions, along with the promotion of Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Lewis-Nyawo to series regulars, promise an exciting and fresh dynamic for Season 2.
Furthermore, Jenna Ortega’s new role as a producer for Season 2 indicates a shift towards a stronger emphasis on horror over teen romance. With an impressive lineup of guest stars including Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, and Christopher Lloyd, fans can expect a thrilling and captivating new season of Wednesday.
